I recently bought some new white t-shirts from Costco and they were 6 for $16 or $2.66 each. I don't know if they are made in the USA, Kirkland brand, but the quality is good. I just did some checking on iron on paper and it is about $1 per sheet. What this translates to is some very inexpensive shirts. Add in the cost of the ink, and we are looking at about $4 per shirt.
I made some iron on shirts for a friend several years ago, and they weren't that bad. I'm sure the quality has improved since then, so it may not be a bad idea, especially for just some plain white t-shirts with the official TZM logo on them. We should be able to duplicate the global t-shirts using this method and have t-shirts for $4, rather than $18.50 you pay to get them from global.
We may want to consider this as a temporary alternative to creating some shirts that we can hand out like we do the DVD's. Or at least create some new shirts for the active members to wear. I'm going to go buy some iron on sheets and give it try on one of my new t-shirts. If this works well, I will have to go and see if they sell colored shirts the same way.
My brother also says that he knows a guy in Anacortes that does shirts. I am still waiting for him to help get me in contact with the guy. He isn't sure if he is still even in business. Hopefully he is and will be on board with the movement, and give us good deals on shirts.
