Hello Everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know I am still kicking. I have been very busy as of late and have been dealing with my ongoing medical issues which has caused me to be absent a bit lately. I am still here and plan to jump right back in ASAP but will be busy for the next month or so and may still be scarce around here until then. On a positive note, I have been in remission since the 18th of June and am now off of all my prescription medications. I have a few more weeks of crap to deal with and I will be done with doctors forever!!!!(fingers crossed) Just an update for everyone; we have a new member in the Seattle area who is working as a coordinator and planning some fun for the Seattle area including a potluck at golden gardens. Keep an eye out as we are planning lots of fun for the next year. I have also been gathering resources for a booth of sorts similar to the Vancouver BC group’s setup. I have a couple of tables, a couple of sandwich boards, the two kiosks I made(which I hope to make totally solar after I get my finances in order), a 10ft x 10ft gazebo to stick it all under, and an awesome banner provided by our friend Carl. I am going to get some of the posters and display items from the Vancouver BC graphics database printed and laminated to go with all of it and I am gathering fliers and other handout designs so we have a well stocked pile of literature to hand out. I am a bit broke right now but all of this is a work in progress and will continue as I can. If anyone has or wants to design some posters/fliers/banners/etc please do so and get copies to me so we can have a kickass booth to hit the streets with. Summer is almost over and people will become interested in the movement again soon so get ready for a crazy end of the year and lets start thinking about next year and try to prevent the die off that hits after Z-Day from hitting us again. Love ya all, Fuknhippie |

Consider the global financial system, which lives in the same virtual and intangible space as other digital media, as a particular type of social network that uses an abstract metric to tabulate exchanges of goods and quantify other forms of human energy and production. The inherent problems built into this system - entirely controlled by private banking interests who issue money into circulation as debt, creating artificial scarcity and fostering cut-throat competition that leads automatically to tragic negligence and dire misuse of resources - are becoming increasingly self-evident. |
