A Resource-Based Economy is a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude. All resources become the common heritage of all of the inhabitants, not just a select few. The premise upon which this system is based is that the Earth is abundant with plentiful resource; our practice of rationing resources through monetary methods is irrelevant and counter productive to our survival. - (The Venus Project)

Thank you for the information, and the invitation. I will most definitely attend.

As per requests for agenda items, I would only like to address that while idealism is marvelous, and I whole-heartedly endorse the venus project to the extent of its proposed resource-based economy, we must maintain a realistic focus. Most particularly on the obstacles that we face, as a global community, to any real form of betterment to the human condition- namely, the very real and very powerful forces of the status-quo. We can't flinch from a legitimate and thorough look into the face of tyranny and suppression.

With a fair amount of easy research, anyone can understand the way things are now. Its also not hard to think of ways things can be better.

The transition is the part where we need to most come together, right now, because our isolation is an easy, and welcome victim. I request that these considerations be a part of, if not this introductory gathering, then a regular addition to the forums.
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you.

-Jesse

The Truth is Always Right
By: PFC Kevin Nelson, November 18, 2009

First of all, I would like to say that I Love America, the ideas it put forth at its cor during foundation, the freedoms it represents, the quality of life that it has afforded many of its citizens since its foundation and the goals , many of which it has fulfilled throughout the years, that it set forth to bring its people upon foundation. I love my nation so much that in its time of need, during war, i enlisted in its Armed Forces. this is not to say that i believed in the war that I enlisted to defend my country against was just, constitutional or even morally right. But as an American Soldier I swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

The United States Army Oath of Enlistment
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

As a united States soldier and a defender of just that, i am truly appalled by what has been done to the Bill of Rights, rights GUARANTEED to all American citizens by both the current President and our last one.

I, as a person extremely concerned with the way that both America and the world are gradually slipping into complacency, am furious with our current President and our former President for misleading the people to such great lengths and causing thousands of my Brothers in Arms to die, countless family and friends to suffer grief beyond measure, all to fulfill their sick fascinations with power, wealth and ultimately, greed.

Now being an American soldier I do not have all the freedoms that a civilian has, and DESERVES. If my contribution to your cause were to be found out i could face some pretty severe punishments*, but that to me is no matter, because even though my rights as an American soldier are diminished I am still a denizen of the United States of America and I both appreciate my freedoms and livelihood. I appreciate them enough to die for them. If you believe my testimony will help your cause I give you full permission to distribute it as widely as you see fit.

In closing, I love my country, I consider myself a true patriot, but I cannot tolerate what is being done to its history, its laws and, by far, most importantly its people, by the ones who hold all the power.

Sincerely and Wholeheartedly,

PFC Kevin Nelson
United States Army

*(I can face jail time for speaking ill of people in command over me, the highest person being the president.)
