ZDay 2010 is officially a wrap, and a wonderful success, we met some new faces. I have to say driving in NYC is crazy, I think I have a few new grey hairs. It was awesome to see with my own eyes Peter, Jacque and Rozanne.
Stay tuned for the exact date and time of our next chapter meeting, which will be in mid April. The adjenda topics will be ZDay 2011 planning, street activism, NJ-Z radio webcast, teams, University outreach.
Seth
P.S. Here's the first hour of the event:
ZDAY 2010 is less than one week away and is SOLD OUT.
There are approximately 20 people from NJ who will be attending (by my count). I’ve created a thread on the forum for those wishing to connect and meet up in NYC with others from the chapter. Here we can discuss travel arrangements and suggestions, needing or having extra tickets, as well as meeting during the hour long break and anything else related to the event this Saturday.
CLICK HERE to be directed to the forum thread.
See you at ZDAY!
~T Rose,
NJ Chapter Communications
PS Did you know March 13 is Jacque Fresco’s 94th birthday?

New Years Eve Report
| Main - Main |
This is exciting, we have a new chapter member named Andrew who is hosting a film festival in Newton, NJ
Meditations on Money: the Good, the Bad & the Ugly
So Andrew offered to make the Jan 24th showing a chapter meeting, which is a great idea. Please RSVP Andrew and let him know you are with the Chapter so we can get a head count of who's coming for the chapter meeting. The agenda for the chapter meeting will be "Do we form a not-for-profit?" "Do we want to have our own Z-day event?" "Do we want to pick officers for the chapter" and other things.
P.S. The event and meet was a success.

Hello Everyone,
I want to thank you all for joining with us to spread awareness about The Venus Project and The Zeitgeist movement.
We are growing by one new person a day for this site, however it is not reflected in the activity, I would encourage you to get things going by posting a Bio in the Chapter Discussions by county section of the forum. This serves two purposes, identifying where geographically you are and to get things moving here as far as activity. We are all busy working full time jobs, so I want to delegate functions to those willing in maintaining this site so I can be free to do what I do best.
Jump in, don't be shy, and most of all have fun.
Be The Movement,
Seth
Videos & Bit Torrent
| Main - Main |
VenusTube, Torrents and a small update.
First we have a new media center, it's better in many ways to the old one, but has a big limitation it only uses Google Video or YouTube video. It's real easy to add videos and the interface is cleaner.
As of right now we have 36 users, 3 questionable ones from the .ru domain. We have 108 newsletter subscribers, which I think I'm going to take the newsletter signup form off the frontpage because I want to encourage folks to register with the sight more then just the newsletter.
Please take a look at our chat room, and forum.
One of our members made a full length video of Peter Joseph's talk "Where are we going?" and has made it available to download using a file distribution technology called Bit Torrent. The link to the torrent is: Where are we going?
There are dozens of Bit Torrent clients (a client is a program that accesses a server over a network) I prefer Vuze but UTorrent is popular. I will be seeding this file for as long as I can, so please download it soon, and please seed it at least 1 time to give the bits back.

News for October

October report
October 17th 2009
Jacque Fresco receives 2009 International Design Award, updates, and thoughts.
Today Jacque Fresco is receiving the 2009 International Design Award at the Life Loves Design Conference in Ixtapa Mexico.
Peter Joseph in the latest radio address indicated that he isn't going to be doing anymore full Q&A's at least for a while, this is a relief for me because it has seemed like the questions were beginning to be repeated.
As time goes on those who haven't read the materials and done their own research to arrive at the same conclusion are going to bog us down.It is my hope that we reach out to those who have heard and agree so that we can build a community that can then begin to function as a local movement. Right now we have about a dozen people registered here, we need to meet to discuss everyone's interest and abilities, to start a plan.
The long term
It is important to know that we are in for a long journey, I'm in it for a long haul 8 years at least, so the thing we are trying to build is something that is going to last. We can deal with the folks who are very exited about getting going by helping them direct their energies so they don't burn out. We don't need superstars or cheerleaders, we need minds who connect with what is the best in all of us, we will have flashes in the pan, and people raining on our parade but in the end slow and steady finishes the race.
What we should want to do is begin building connections with people, emphasizing where we connect is a powerful way to build rapport, it's deeper then anything we can do as far as promoting is concerned. Fostering negativity in the form of controversy over government actions or inability to handle the issues is not a high energy place to communicate from, it's good as far as a slap in the face to wake people up but not a good tool to keep people interested.
We all want things to happen right now, I understand this but let's step back a minute,The Zeitgeist Movement as a concept is only about a year old, the Chapters idea is only 6 months old, the NJ Chapter was started August 28th 2009 almost 7 weeks ago. I guess it's helpful for me to look back and see how quickly things happen, we have 14 members of this site currently, so if we maintain growth at 2 a week, by March 15th we should have 46 members. In a year 118, more then likely after the third movie we will see exponential growth.
The short term
In the mean time I think over the next 6 weeks we should all meet together and collect our ideas. I'm very accessible by phone, I've spoken to several of you already and it's been awesome. So let's not be so far sighted that we don't take care of the 7 week old baby we have here, or so short sighted that we get frustrated about taking care of the small stuff. We are moving we are grooving, and we can have fun while we try to communicate this very serious message to people.

If you haven't noticed our site is listed on the gateway page. This is a good start for New Jersey I'm so happy to be at this level of activity in The Zeitgeist Movement.
Please feel free to suggest any improvements, and get started posting in the forums
