Local News 6-26-12 We had a booth at QC Pride Fest. We met a lot of people and gave away quite a few dvds. Great success once again! Big thanks to our members especially Brad for getting everything together on such short notice we managed to pull this off with barely 3 weeks prep time. We are looking into a venue for Zeitgeist Media Festival here in Davenport. Anyone with artistic talent be it musical or visual we are looking for people to join us. If anyone has info on an alternative venue as well we are open to suggestions. The global date is August 3rd - 5th. Seeing as we are a new chapter and still getting our bearings this is once again short notice and I apologize. If we get interested parties that find it to be too short of notice we can certainly make it into a stand alone event of our own with the hopes of creating a network to use for next year. We are going to be working together with the Illinois chapter to help with a booth and presentation at the Illinois Renewable Energy Fair which is August 11th and 12th. www.illinoisrenew.org 5-5-12 The QC Zeitgeist day was small but a resounding success! We met some great people and had some great conversations. We plan to have more lecture events in the future and we'll certainly make sure next years Zday is bigger and better. The QC chapter will be out participating in the www.oneplanetproject.net next weekend! This is a new ongoing project put in motion by the Vancouver chapter in the hopes of helping new chapters get on their feet by giving them a means to immediately begin engaging the public and helping to spread the message. The format is extremely simple and you don't necessarily need t shirts or anything just get out there and start talking to people! This is one of the type of things we had planned on doing here in the QC from the beginning and we'll be doing lots of these in the future. The current plan is to have a lecture introducing TZM and our goals along with a focus on how we can all help make the world a better more sustainable place.
